The selection of fabric & leather stops with us

The Contract Furniture Store will procure contract-quality fabrics, faux leather, and leather to match your project, with performance and fire safety in mind from the outset.

Fire Performance & Compliance

We specify upholstery to the fire-performance standard appropriate to your project’s location and application:

• UK projects: BS 7176 / BS 5852 Crib 5

• EU, USA, UAE & other international projects: EN 1021, California TB117-2013, NFPA, or other regionally recognised standards, as applicable

• Cruise liner & marine projects: IMO FTP Code 2010 Part 8 / SOLAS

If a selected fabric, faux leather, or leather doesn’t independently meet the required fire performance, we’ll work with the manufacturer to specify the appropriate fire-retardant interliner, foam, and upholstery construction — so the finished furniture suits its intended application.

Whether your project is in the UK, Europe, the USA, the UAE or elsewhere internationally, we will help identify the appropriate material specification and provide the relevant technical information and certification for approval.

Fire performance requirements vary by country, building type, application, and project specification. Where specific certification is required, compliance should be confirmed for the complete upholstery construction and intended end use.

Upholstery Choices

When you select an upholstered product from our ranges, there are standard drop-down menu choices:

  • COL (Customer’s own leather) Leather
  • COM (Customer’s own material) Fabric

In many instances, our UK & European manufacturing partners provide their own ranges of fabric, faux leather, and leather, but should you wish to work with your preferred designs, then no problem.
