By choosing materials that are renewable or recycled, minimising waste, and favouring clean, solvent-free finishes, LEAF sets a new standard for environmentally responsible luxury in the outdoor furniture industry.

• Recyclable Structures: Many LEAF products use aluminium, prized not only for its strength and lightness but also for being 100% recyclable.

• Natural Fabrics: The project explores alternatives, such as hemp-based textiles, which are biodegradable and require fewer resources to produce.

• No Glue or Screws: Some LEAF designs eliminate adhesives and bolts, allowing for easier disassembly and recycling at the end of the product’s life.

• Durability First: High-quality materials and weather-resistant finishes ensure LEAF products last for years, reducing the need for frequent replacement and the associated waste.

Sustainable Design in Practice

Varaschin’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its thoughtfully designed eco-friendly collections: 

• REUSE Collection: Crafted with circular economy principles, this line features structures made from durable, hydro-repellent Okumè wood. The upholstery utilises hemp fabrics derived from plants grown without fertilisers, ensuring minimal environmental impact. The design eliminates the use of bolts and adhesives, facilitating easy recycling at the product’s end of life. 

• Noss Collection: Utilising 100% recyclable aluminium, the Noss products are finished with solvent-free powder coatings, eliminating harmful VOCs and promoting a healthier environment.

 • Barcode Collection: Made entirely from certified solid teak wood sourced from responsibly managed plantations, ensuring both environmental sustainability and social responsibility.  

Sustainable Practices and Initiatives

Varaschin’s dedication to sustainability extends beyond product design:

• Eco-Training Program: This initiative focuses on carbon footprint analysis and aims to reorganise production activities to reduce resource consumption. It includes training for management and sales departments to instil digital and green skills.  
• Quality Policy Alignment: The company’s quality policy harmonises corporate objectives with the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, emphasising economic, social, and environmental goals.  
• “Valle Lagunare” Support: As a tangible proof of the company’s close connection to the territory, they decided to make a concrete and certified contribution to safeguarding the Venice Lagoon.  
• Ogyre Oceans Safeguard Mission: The company collaborates with Ogyre 

  through their Fishing for Litter campaign. They will provide support, equipment, logistics, training and financial compensation to fishing communities engaged in marine litter collection in Italy.
